Trapped in the Garage!

I pulled out of the garage yesterday to hear the garage door close to what sounded like a gunshot. My Wednesday morning was too hectic to investigate, so I continued on to work. Blake called me when trying to leave for school because she couldn't get out of the garage. The spring had broke on the garage door, so when she tried to open it, the wheels on the side of the door began to pop out of the door. She called me in a panic. It's crazy that a silly door can create so much chaos - not to mention the cost of the fix! Sheesh!

College Cheer Fair

We attended the College Cheer Fair again this year the day after homecoming. Blake represented herself very well despite the lack of sleep from the night before. She is really interested in the program at Oklahoma State University. They have a competitive co-ed team who has won several National titles. We are going to take a good look at their university. Here are just a couple of videos of her at the fair.

Homecoming Dance

Here are a few pictures of Blake before the dance. She looked amazing. She got ready for the dance with her adorable friend, Maddie. She went to the dance with boyfriend, Isaac. They had a blast and came home safe. Great day! xo

Homecoming 2010

This is Miss Blake's senior year and her last high school homecoming. Friday night, the Sabercats kicked butt on the football field. A group of girls returned to our house for an evening in front of the firepit making s'mores. Tonight . . . the dance. Pics to follow.

Game 4

Update: Evan played so well on Wednesday, they asked him to start as nose guard, defense, for the next game. Both sides of the ball - yea baby! That's my boy! Go get em!!!!

Well, Preston did not win, but they played strong and were much more organized as a team. Evan played both sides of the ball most of the game and was definitely an intimidating force. He also played in the junior varsity game after the varsity game because the team was struggling to find someone to snap the ball. Evan towers over many of the boys on the varsity team, his presence as a member of junior varsity was definitely known. It drizzled rain the entire game, but I wouldn't miss it for the world!

Fire Pit at the Perry's

I love it when the kids come over and hang at our house. We built a fire in the back yard and they roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. Everyone stayed the night and we stayed out of their hair. Great night for everyone!
The fire truck arrived earlier in the day, before the fire, as a response to a fire in the tree grove behind our home. We thought it would be fun to have the before and after shots. Made you read the text, didn't it? ;o)
Also, I think it is funny that Evan looks like he can fit Miss Blake in his pocket. te he he he.

Oberfest 2010

Dr. Kent Obermann, the dentist I work for, has been hosting an annual fall party every September for several years. This is our third Oberfest! The day is filled with live music, tons of food, tons of people, and tons of beer and wine. What a fun day!
There was an incredible band of four sixteen year-olds from Cheyenne singing the blues. They were fantastic!!! Kent's band, the Blues doGs are always worth the trip. Kent sang a duo with his daughter, and my sweet friend, Mehgan, that brought tears to my eyes. The hi-light for me was a painter, Scott Freeman, who did a speed portrait of the Statue of Liberty that was auctioned off for charity to the tune of $1100!!
Great friends, great fun! xo

Fall Football

The Preston Pumas are 1-2 for the season so far. One big win and two big losses. They are still getting into the swing of things. They play every Wednesday afternoon through mid October. We still have time to get that winning season. Evan is playing great. His goal is to get as many "pancakes" as possible. This means knocking the defender backwards and flattening him. Yea Baby!! He gets a skull and crossbones sticker to put on his helmet for everyone he "pancakes" in a game. The games are a blast! We are also enjoying the high school games on the weekends. Evan and his buddy, Griffin, were super proud to sport their practice jerseys at the Fossil Ridge game last week.

. . .let the music play.

Finally, I have figured out how to add a playlist to my blog. If the music annoys you, please scroll to the bottom and press pause on the ipod. xo

College Applications

It's difficult to believe that many colleges have an October deadline for applicants. Blake is now starting to think about applying. Where? The list is long and she just really doesn't know. Baby steps . . .baby steps.
