Happy Thanksgiving!!!

We spent our Thanksgiving at home this year, just the four of us. (and Moose, the under-table-dwelling-left-over-picker-upper!) Clay is still recovering from Whooping Cough and travel was not an option! Other than him not feeling 100%, I certainly enjoyed my family so much. I am truly blessed!

Freshman Football 2012

What a great season!! We ended with a win against Hinkley. Evan was pulled aside by one of the referrees during the game. The referree said, "I bet those varsity coaches are drooling over you! I have seen you make some really great blocks out there!" Then after the game, the coach came to Evan and said the referree made the same effort to tell the coach about him too! We are really proud!! Evan puts in a lot of dedication, hard work, and perseverence! Sad to end the season but excited for next year! #67! Go Cats!

Halloween Fun

The girl loves Harry Potter! Super fun photo! You go girl! xo

Happy Birthday Young Man!

What's a little humiliation to go along with a 15th birthday? I wish I had to video to share. Evan can certainly shake his tail feathers! xo

OSU Homecoming

OSU Homecoming is this weekend. As I had mentioned before, they are known for their Homecoming Experience. Part of Miss Blake's commitment to her sorority includes "pomping". This is gluing millions of tissue paper squares into millions of chicken wire squares to create the "Homecoming Experience" that people come from all over to view and take part in. Here are some pictures of the Zeta display. Note, the display is 15 to 20 feet tall and are wide enough to cover the view of the house behind it. Miss Blake has been pomping for over two months with a 16 hour-a-week commitment. She has spent the last 48 hours, without sleep, pomping! The results are amazing! Yes, the entire display is tissue paper!!!

Driver's Permit

It's official! Evan is behind the wheel! We got to the DMV 30 minutes before opening only to wait in line...sheesh! He passed the exam, the eye exam and the crazy amount of paperwork and humiliation from Mom and Dad taking pictures! We have had a few close calls but are chalking those experiences up to "opportunities to learn". So proud of you, young man! xo

Hello Fall!

Our back yard is so amazing this time of year! The fall color is super vibrant this season. We had an agressive wind storm the other day that blew a lot of the color away. It was the forest behind the house that received the brunt of the storm. Timberrrrrr! Blow away wind!

Broncos vs. Raiders Game

Evan and Clay were invited to go with Evan's two buddies and their dads to today's Bronco game. They sent me these pictures of them at their seats. Sucks to be them. Right? xo

Homecoming 2012

Evan looked so handsome in his fancy attire. He did not ask a girl to go with him to the dance, which was a hot topic for the past two weeks, but he went, he had a great time, and he did not catch cooties! ;o) Miss Blake ordered him a bouttenier from Stillwater. It was a super sweet guesture that warmed my heart! I was enlightened how much boys really don't care about all of the hoopla. What a difference! Here are some great pics of my little boy and his first Homecoming experience. Enjoy!

Home for the weekend!

Happy Mama posting today...Blake was home for the three day weekend! It is always wonderful to have everyone together again! The kids laugh and chat and my heart fills so full! We will take her back to the airport tonight and hug her goodbye until she comes home again in October! Check out the ring! It really is pretty and you get used to the size! BLING!!! Wear it proudly, Princess! xo

Captain!

The SaberCat Freshman football team coaches made their announcement of Captains at today's game. The first name announced, "unanimously" by the team of coaches, was my boy! His hardwork, steady determination, and commitment to his team sets an awesome example to everyone! #67! Go Cats! By the way, SaberCats 32 Westminster 6. Great game!

CSU beats CU!!!

We rushed from Evan's football game to go to the CSU vs. CU Showdown of the Rockies. The boys were still sweaty and dressed in their football pants. We certainly had our green on. That was a bit scary when we parked among a very large group of CU tailgaters! We were fortunate to have box seats for the day and enjoyed all of the accomodations and a GREAT game! R-A-M-S....RAMS!

I'm baaaack!!!!

Here we go again! It has been a long while since I have posted on our family blog and not because I have been busy. Honestly, I have been empty. I have allowed my fear of my kids growing up and leaving me suffocate my reality. This long funk of sadness has sucked the life out of me but today I am turning that around!!
In the past, I have always enjoyed posting on my blog because as I said when I started, it is like a daily gratitude journal. Today, I have had such a fulfilling day posting about the last few months. My heart is full again. My children are amazing... and I raised them! My husband is amazing...and he chose me! I know I need to embrace that so once again, you get to read about how wonderful my family is...because they are! Count your blessings! Be grateful for every day! xo

FOOTBALL!!!!!!

Oh, we are so excited for football! Evan has really done well preparing this season. He has set a great example of hard work and determination! We can't wait for upcoming games! Go Cats! xo

Freshman in High School!

Where does the time go... my little boy is a freshman in high school!!! He has a full load of honors classes and a large commitment to football. His first Homecoming will be in October...I don't know if I am ready for this. xo

Sorority Recruitment

What a great time Blake and I had preparing for her daily outfits during sorority recruitment. This color dress with this color shoe with this type of jewelry...it's like paper dolls all over again! She knows her crazy mama and blessed me with daily photos of her attire! Such a pretty girl! Far prettier on the inside for sure! xo The photos are in order of the days of recruitment. The final photo is her greeting her new sorority sister!
