Still mad about Grover!

Evenings on the patio!

Life is good! xo

Back to work!

Blake went back to work at Hooters for the summer. She enjoyed her job and made quite a bit of money to take back to school. She is a hard worker! She is flying home for Labor Day to take on a couple of shifts for the Thunder of the Rockies weekend. We are excited to have her home for a few days! Part of her summer duties were promotional visits at golf courses. She traveled to Grand Junction for a tournament in June. As always, she ran in to some OSU alumni! They are everywhere and are PROUD PROUD PROUD!

Change is good!

I recently made the decision to leave the position I had with my employer of the past four years. I was just not happy there anymore and had not been for a while. It was best for me, my kids, and my hubby for me to move on! And move on, I did! I am now employed at Mountain Kids Pediatric Dentisty. I started as additional administrative help and am now the co-office manager with my dear friend, Jaymi! I love who I work with, I love what the company is about, and I love my job! Wow...that's a change! I am doing most of their marketing which is so fun for me. I was asked to get a gift for one of our referring doctors who recently had a baby boy. I decided to make a diaper motor bike! It was so cute...and I got paid to do what I love. Crazy good!

All together again!

Blake returned home in early May, so I had everyone together again for Mother's Day! Phew, that felt good! I love to sit and visit with the family on the back porch! Not only do I love them with all of my heart, I REALLY like them too! Lucky me! Lucky me! Lucky me!

Track Season

Evan had a great time participating in track this year! He threw the shot and discus and did well for his first year! He also ran the "fat-man's relay" as they call it when the bigger boys participate in a relay. He was proud...so I am too! xo

New front yard sod

We have had a weed problem in our front yard since the time we put the sod in in 2003! We finally came to the conclusion that we needed to kill the grass, rip it out, add new top soil, and re-sod! What a project! But between the three of us, we started Saturday morning and finished later that day. I think the neighbors were impressed by my workhorse of a family! At least they were pleased that we took care of the crappy front yard!

Visit from Papa Chuck and Peggy

We had a nice visit with Papa Chuck and Peggy when they came to Colorado in the spring. I was really glad Blake was home to see them also. Just a note, Evan's taller! ;o)

Evan in DC

Here are some more pictures of Evan's trip to Washington DC. The laying of the wreath was certainly the highlight of the trip, but as you can see, he did have a blast the rest of the trip also! xo

Easter in Oklahoma!

We met Blake at Grandma and Granddad's house for Easter this year. It was a great break from school and we all enjoyed a nice holiday with G&G! The kids colored eggs with G&G and I really couldnt tell you who enjoyed it most! xo

Poker Night!

Evan had some buddies over at the end of the school year for a poker night! They had a great time! ....and made a pretty good mess! I love those boys! xo

Springtime in Stillwater

Here is a great picture of Blake and her friend, Katie! This is her view from the front of her sorority house. Springtime in Stillwater! Nice!

Da boys!

Evan and Clay are attached at the hip. The two really enjoy one another's company. Here is Evan with Uncle Shawn and his buddies at an Avalanche game. Box seats...life is tough! xo

Theme Day Practices

Because the entire team had to practice and not leave for Spring Break, they tried to make days fun by having theme days. I have attached some pictures of Blake that made me smile. She and teammates were Alvin and the Chipmunks. The eyebrow ordeal is just downright frightening! xo

Exciting Spring Break

Poor Blake had to stay on campus for Spring Break while all of her friends went to Destin, Florida or Corpus Christie, Texas. She had to stay behind for cheer practice, which definately paid off. She sent this picture home of her parking lot that is deserted. Silly girl!

Sad News

We have lost our sweet kitty, Conan. He loved being outside and so we allowed him to come and go. In late April, he went outside and did not return. Our hopes are that he has been kittynapped by a sweet old lady needing a companion and not that he had an encounter with the coyotes who hang around in the forest behind the house. We all miss him everyday.

The end of an era!

She ended on a high note! Miss Blake has decided not to cheer this year which is a big decision since this has been her life for the past eight years. She earned a GIANT National Championship ring to show off and remember her efforts and dedication. She is excited to begin her sophomore year without this large commitment. She will, however, get a job to help fund her college education. We are so proud of you, Princess! xo

National Champions! OSU!!!! GO POKES!!!

Miss Blake was on Daytona Beach in Miami, Florida competing on the National stage at the Collegiate Cheerleading Championships. Oklahoma State had two teams competing.... Large CoEd and Small CoEd. Miss Blake is a member of the Small CoEd team. Both teams ended up as National Champions! This is quite a feat! The STUNTS team also competed. Miss Blake is #9, so when she flips, she's #6. ha! They ended up second, beat by Louisville 19-20. All of these competitions will be televised on CBS Sports April 29, 2012. This was a fantastic way to top off her Freshman year in college!

Evan laying the wreath upon the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.....

What an honor, Evan was selected by his school to be the one to lay the wreath upon the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington Cemetary during his visit to Washington DC this Spring.   We are so proud of him!  I will post pictures soon, but the video is a MUST SEE!   Enjoy!  xo
